Painting is a compelling voice for an artist, just as the sound of music is for a musician. Like many visual artists, I have explored the fundamental
possibilities in several differenet media, techniques and surfaces. In the sixties,
I used everything from acrylics for airbrushing Color Field paintings on wall size canvases to Plein-aire painting using watercolors, pastels and oils. For the pure enjoyment of responding to nature, I still find using them pleasureable.
