Presenting the
Lake George Series
And the "How It Happened" Story of more than a Decade of Painting

Adirondack summers are great for leisure boating trips and also for
landscape artists. Over a substantial period of time our summers were full
of each. Joining friends for an afternoon sail to one of the picnic islands was the coolest and greatest. We would pack our picnic food, a swim suit. Sometimes, on a weekend, our sleeping bags or a pup tent. For me, I would always bring my paper and a bag of watercolor paints and supplies. While sitting on a rock, I would use the time capturing a small bit of nature at its
best. I looked forward to painting a moment of time and place to record a special intimate piece of the earth on the lake that I love and am in wonder
of its beauty. I could not foresee that by capturing these never again images, that they would reach out together to tell this story of their life.

The "on location" sketches are very much part of my routine, even in winter. Sheltered inside my car, I find a spot to park. With pad, watercolor pencils
and sticks in hand, I start sketching. These experiences and sketches become my "software programs" for future paintings. I have the "originals" in my
hard drive and can refer to them on my backup program if needed.

My life has become a wonderful journey because
I speak with my visual voice.
