Career She was employed for several years as an Art teacher at Glens Falls Junior and Senior High Schools. After retirement, Rowland established a business at 21 Thomson Avenue in Glens Falls, NY, known as "Artworks School of Art". Artworks consisted of four rooms on the second floor which served for teaching art classes to both adults and children. The ground floor offered three departments for the public. A large open space, "Gallery 21", where artists could display and sell their paintings, a complete inventory of art supplies for retail sale and a matting and framing department for custom made services. From the Media From The Post Star, Nov. 2005 Nine original paintings from local artist (Queensbury, NY), Eleanor Rowland were recently purchased and are now part of the permanent collection in the new Glens Falls Hospital building at 100 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY. The paintings are on display in the lobby and other public areas of the recently completed tower. Mural Commission: The Village of Lake George, has recently installed a four panel mural in the Lake George Visitor's Center, measuring 9 feet by 36 feet. The mural was conceived and created by Eleanor Rowland, along with two other painters. The mural depicts the "Story of Lake George", from the arrival of the first indigenous people, through the French and Indian War, the Victorian Era and in the fourth panel, as it is enjoyed today for many visitors who vacation at this beautiful lake in the Adirondacks.
